United Engineering

SOLUTIONS

Creating sophisticated engineering solutions for heavy, complex, and oversized components is our core competence and passion.

United Engineering Solutions offers heavy cargo and structural engineering, vessel modification, naval architecture, 3-D CAD animations, mobilization and supervision, transport consultancy and port captain services – to ensures that each voyage is flawlessly planned and executed.

We have successfully been catering to the needs of various industries and a vast variety of clients entrust us with handling their cargo.

HEAVY CARGO ENGINEERING

We evaluate and create project-specific stowage plans, calculate securing forces for a variety of heavy lift shipments, and perform lashing and securing surveys to ensure safe and damage-free transportation of your cargo. Our engineering team offers safe and efficient solutions for heavy lift transport and installation operations, tailored to the unique requirements of each load and customer. Our services include:

  • Stowage planning
  • Lift engineering, incl.  lifting arrangements, plans, and rigging calculations
  • Securing calculations and plans
  • FE analyses of hatch covers and deck structures
  • Design of grillage and seafastening solutions
  • Design of transport frames and lifting appliances

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

We design a large variety of steel structures for the shipping and offshore industries. These include cradles and grillages, designed for large offshore components tailored to specific vessels and voyages, as well as flexible, durable, and cost-effective transportation solutions for long-term worldwide use on any suitable vessel.

Our specialized engineering has implemented transports of wind turbine blades, towers, monopiles, and transition pieces, including the longest-ever transport of monopiles: two 40-day voyages of 20 monopiles of up to 1,200 mt from Germany to Taiwan.

Lifting appliances such as traverses, spreaders, and specialized lifting frames are also part of our range of services.

For all designs, we cover the full package of calculation reports, construction drawings, steel construction, and delivery.

VESSEL MODIFICATION

Our engineers have decades of experience working with existing vessels and developing modifications and upgrades. They have also participated in the design of various newbuildings. Among other services, our experts can modify vessel capacity or upgrade vessels to meet any operational requirements of your project.

Hydrodynamic Engineering

Our portfolio of hydrostatic and hydrodynamic services includes:

  • Feasibility studies
  • Float-over analyses for RoRo loadouts with GHS or MRA (with ABB Octopus incl. onboard monitoring)
  • Mooring calculations (with Optimoor Dynamic)
  • Various types of numerical flow simulations (such as roll damping studies)
  • Propulsion and drag optimization
  • Determination of wind loads on offshore structures

3D CAD and ANIMATIONS

Our team of CAD engineers and designers create accurate 3D CAD models along with captivating photorealistic renderings, animations, and other state-of-the-art visualization solutions.

MOBILIZATION AND SUPERVISION

Our structural division provides comprehensive installation and mobilization supervision to ensure that planning and execution are optimally coordinated and flawlessly executed.

Together with our close partner SLB Services, we mobilize and demobilize transport and installation vessels and monitor loading operations for any type of project transport.

TRANSPORT CONSULTANCY

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail: We start developing mission-specific transport solutions for your cargoes from day one. Creating innovative transport solutions of super heavy goods is our core competence and passion. If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well.

Our comprehensive know-how in terms of naval architecture, mechanical engineering, as well as vessel and port operations will reduce costs and delays. We consult our clients in all transport related matters such as selection of suitable tonnage, anticipated accelerations during sea passage in combination with a fatigue analysis, lifting solutions, and loading simulations of ro/ro and lifting operations.
